Chief Adesoji Ajayi-Bembe, Obanikoro of Lagos and Idoluwo-Ile Kingdom, and the entire Obanikoro Chieftaincy Family condemn in very strong terms the incursion of the ancient Iga Idunganran, the palace of the Oba of Lagos.

We are deeply in awe and saddened that the peaceful and well-behaved #EndSARS protest by the youths particularly in Lagos State was hijacked by criminally-minded and rogue elements masquerading as #EndSARS protesters.

The wanton rampage in the State and is horrendous, most especially the plundering and desecration of Iga Idunganran, the official palace of Oba of Lagos, as seen in footages are damning and sacrilegious. Iga Idunganran has been the custodian of our primordial heritage and customs, for all the chieftaincy and royal families and Isale-Eko descendants for time immemorial. We commiserate with our revered Father, His Royal Majesty, Oba Rilwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu Akiolu l (CFR), and his family. We are delighted that Kabiyesi is safe and secure and the entire White-cap Chiefs and the entire Lagosians. May he continue to live in good health. While we support the peaceful demands of the Youths, we implore our sons and daughters to be law-abiding and abhor criminality in our land and uphold and protect the sanctity of our cultural and traditional commonwealth and heritage. We support the Lagos State government to investigate this heist and bring the perpetrators to book.
